Most devices come with built in cameras nowadays. Whether you use it for work, school or socialising, your webcam on your laptop has probably never been as active as it has during the pandemic.
Unfortunately having this privilege can also leave you vulnerable to an online attack which can be known as Camfecting. Which is when hackers or cyber-criminals take control of your webcams. Hackers are able to do this by disabling the ‘on light’ which indicates when the camera is active meaning that the victims of these attacks are none the wiser. Research has shown that more than 15,000 web-camera devices are readily accessible to cyber-criminals.
Most genuine webcam hacks are targeted to attack and gather restricted information. However, some cyber-criminals boast of the unsuspecting people who they watch ‘for fun’ and can use this footage to groom their victims or to demand ransom in order to prevent this being released online.

This is our first time experiencing life within a business and we are learning more everyday what it means to successfully work within a team.
